This photo measures 13.5 by 11.5 inches. According to the sign in front of the men, the date is March 7, 1978. I don't know much about the photo as I obtained it at an estate sale. In researching this photo, most referred to it as being one of the locations where sailors were sent for 'boot camp'.
The base closed in 1993 and is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Most of the buildings still exist and most of the base is now a museum.
Condition:
For anyone who had a father, brother, or other tie to the N.T.C., the condition probably won't be as big of an issue. The important aspect will be just having your loved one in the photo. To collectors, it will be a different story. The photo has some small creases and is curled due to being kept in a tube for many years. Along the top couple of inches there is some type of stain, my guess is something splashed on it. This can be trimmed at the top and framed.
My first photo shows the entire picture. In my second photo, I cropped that top area off so you can see how it would look if trimmed. My other photos show various sections so that you can see the faces of the men a little better.
