This thermometer shows a front and side view of one of the famous San Francisco cable cars. Although it does not say "San Francisco" on it, the seller at the estate sale where I purchased it said she bought it in San Francisco. She's fairly confident it was purchased during a trip in the mid 1970s.
It is made of metal of some sort, not tin or aluminum because it's heavier than that. It measures 4 inches at the tallest point, and 5.25 inches side to side. It has a hook on the back for hanging on a wall or post.
The thermometer works. I sat it outside alongside of my regular thermometer and watched it for several days. It recorded the exact temperature as my old stand by one. It's in great condition, but there are a few slight tarnish spots, mainly on the top. You may be able to take those out with a piece of steel wool.
A note about the thermometer dial - it is removable (why you'd want to remove it, I don't know). It is pressed firmly into the slot where it lives and will not fall out on its own. However, if you use a bit of force and push it from the back it will pop out, so be careful about that.
Buyer to pay $7.99 USPS First Class Mail Package shipping charges. Shipping is from Nevada.
I do combine shipping on multiple items purchased as long as all items will safely fit into a single box. However, my web host is not set up to calculate multiple item shipping costs. At checkout, you will be charged full shipping price on each item purchased and I will refund the appropriate amount of overpayment. If you are uncomfortable with that, you can send me an email with your zip code and stating which items you'll be purchasing and I'll calculate the correct combined shipping charges and send you a custom invoice.
SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT SHIPPING CHARGES: Twice yearly, and again in November for the holiday season (so three times per year) the postal service increases shipping charges. This is what they call their "Delivering For America" plan in which they hope to become profitable. It's a 10 year plan that started in 2021, so we've got years to go with multiple price increases on shipping charges each year. I try to absorb the new charges and haven't increased my shipping charges in three years. This year unfortunately, I have to if I want to stay in business. I'll try to keep it reasonable and even absorb some of the increases when possible.
INTERNATIONAL PURCHASED: Sorry, I do not ship to locations outside of the United States.
All items in my listings come from either estate or garage sales. I do not know if they come from homes where smoking or pets were present. Unless otherwise stated, all items are sold in the same condition as when I obtained them.
