Very colorful terra cotta hand painted face mask. Has birds in the upper area on both sides. Measures 6.5 by 8 inches. There are no markings to help determine which tribe or nation made the mask. I purchased it at an estate sale so the age is also unknown, but if I had to guess I'd say probably 1960s to 1970s. The hang wire that is attached is old also, so that may help with the date.
The mask is slightly curved so that it stands out from the wall when hung. Currently, there is a thick wire attached to hang it by. That wire can be replaced if you'd rather use something else.
I'd say the condition is great. It may need to be cleaned although I rinsed it off, I didn't get carried away. There are no chips or cracks.
