This is a special EXTRA edition of the Indianapolis Times newspaper dated Thursday, April 12, 1945. It announces the death of President Roosevelt from a brain hemorrhage. It tells about the death and how Truman was notified to take the oath of office as successor.
This is a complete original newspaper. It is not a copy or a reproduction. There are 8 pages. It does not state which edition this paper is except for 'FINAL EXTRA', but on these historical days I've seen newspapers that were up to an 8th edition. Whenever something of great significance occurred during the day, newspaper companies would immediately put out another updated edition. I do know that as new editions came out for a particular day, the amount of pages got smaller and I've seen as few as only 6 pages make up a late edition.
In my opinion, the paper is in great condition. The way that it has been folded and stored for many years was a little uneven. The paper was folded three times.
