The complete title of this book is "The Boys of 61, or Four Years of Fighting" subtitled "Personal Observation With the Army and Navy, From The First Battle of Bull Run to the Fall of Richmond". Written by Charles Carleton Coffin.
It is dated 1886 and was published in Boston by Estes and Lauriat. It's a hard cover book, about 6.5 by 9 inches with 558 pages. It is well illustrated with pictures of ships, soldiers on horses, men shooting, soldiers marching, maps, words to music, etc.
This is an extremely well read book. The inside isn't too bad. The pages are still attached to the binding, but are beginning to come loose. It's the outside that needs TLC. It appears that at one time the front cover came off. In one of my photos you'll see where someone hand sewed it back on. They did a good job of it too. On the side spine, the back portion is loose. For that, it looks like at one time someone applied tape to put it back together. The corners have an almost smooth curve due to age.
All in all, by appearance, the book does show it's age of 128 years, but what a treasure. To hold it, it'll make you wonder who originally owned it? Did they fight in the Civil War and are they included in the pages of this book? Did they read it to their children, or could they even read and had to have someone read it to them?

SHIPPING CHARGE INFO:
I do combine shipping on multiple items purchased. However, my web host is not set up to calculate multiple item shipping costs. At checkout, you will be charged full shipping price on each item purchased and I will refund the appropriate amount of overpayment. If you are uncomfortable with that, you can send me an email with your zip code and stating which items you'll be purchasing and I'll calculate the correct combined shipping charges and send you a custom invoice.
Also, every January the postal service increases shipping charges. This year, many price increases were a bit steep with some package categories adding as much as a dollar on to an already high shipping charge. I try to absorb some of the new charges but that's getting harder with each increase.
International shipping charges also took a tremendous leap. International shipping will now depend on the country. Buyer must contact seller for international shipping charges before making a purchase. Seller reserves the right to void any international transactions where contact has not been made prior to purchasing.
All items in my listings come from either estate or garage sales. I do not know if they came from homes where smoking or pets were present. All items are sold in the same condition as when I received them.
