This is one of six sacred tribal wall art masks that I recently purchased at an estate sale. The lady selling them said they belonged to her parents who moved to the United States in 1957 from Indonesia. She said the parents brought these masks with them at that time.
This listing is for the one single mask that you see in my photo. The others will be in separate listings.
The mask in this listing is considered medium in size. The approximate measurements are 10 inches high, 5.25 inches side to side, 2.75 inches front to back at the tip of the nose. The characters depicted in these masks are guardians or protectors and are often found over doors or windows to keep demons from entering.
There is a label on the back that says Made in Indonesia. Also scratched into the inside in the chin area is X9. There is a wire attached to the back for hanging but its fairly thick which may make it difficult to position, so you may want to replace that. Anything can be used to replace it.
CONDITION:
There are no chips or cracks in the wood. These were quite dusty when I receive them and I was told they have been packed away for about 10 years. I will dust and clean them as much as I feel I can safely do, but not knowing what to use other than water, you may want to go over them again.
SHIPPING:
Google will not include items in their search feature unless they show an actual dollar amount for the shipping cost. The cost that I am stating is for delivery from California to the east coast. If you are not located on or near the east coast, your cost may be less. I'll be happy to refund a portion of my stated costs should you overpay, OR you can send me your zipcode and I can give you an accurate USPS quote and change the shipping amount to reflect the correct charges should you decide to proceed with the purchase.
The mask is too large to fit into any of the postal flat rate boxes. That being said, buyer to pay USPS Priority Mail charges of no more than $11.55, possibly lower depending on your location.
COMBINED SHIPPING:
I normally offer combined shipping on my items, but unless you find another items that is very small, I wont be able to do it with this piece. Theres just no extra room. Please ask anyway, because you never know if you dont ask and maybe I can locate a larger box.
Items in my listings come from estate sales, garage sales, or various auctions. I do not know if they came from homes where smoking or pets were present. All items are sold in the same condition as when I received them.
