I've spent hours researching these two maps and came up with very little information. I did not find the exact maps in any attempt. I did find some information about the names George Philip & Son and McC & Co.. Philips was a very successful map maker in London in the mid to late 1800s.
I obtained the maps at an estate sale. There was no information with them. The only clues are what's printed at the bottom of each map (see notes below). The maps do not have dates on them.
I do not know if these are reproductions or not. I think my biggest fear is seeing them presented on Antique's Road Show someday. LOL!
So, below is all I know about them. This information comes from what's printed on the maps themselves:
The map on left is titled "Associated British and Irish Railways" .Under the title it says "Great Western, London and North Eastern, London Midland and Scottish, Southern, Great Southern Railways of Ireland". The bottom left corner states "George Philip & Son LTD". It measures 13 by 8.25 inches. It is printed on a very thin paper, not quite onion skin. There are 2 short tears in the folded crease that measure probably less than 1/8th inch.
The map on the right is titled "Associated British and Irish Railways, Map of Ireland Streamer and Train Service Connections". The bottom left corner states "McC & Co., LTD., London." The bottom right corner states "E.R.O. 655/3." It measures just barely under 15 by 11.25 inches. It is also printed on a very thin paper, not quite onion skin.
Both maps have a very slight yellowish tint to them, but I think it's just the color of the paper.
Delivery will be via USPS First Class Insured Mail from Arizona. Buyer to pay delivery charges of $7.95.
All items in my listings come from either estate or garage sales. I do not know if they came from homes where smoking or pets were present. All items are sold in the same condition as when I received them.
SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT SHIPPING CHARGES: Twice yearly, and again in November for the holiday season (so three times per year) the postal service increases shipping charges. This is what they call their "Delivering For America" plan in which they hope to become profitable. It's a 10 year plan that started in 2021, so we've got years to go with multiple price increases on shipping charges each year. I try to absorb the new charges and haven't increased my shipping charges in three years. This year unfortunately, I have to if I want to stay in business. I'll try to keep it reasonable and even absorb some of the increases when possible.
I do combine shipping on multiple items purchased as long as all items will safely fit into a single box or envelope. However, my web host is not set up to calculate multiple item shipping costs. At checkout, you will be charged full shipping price on each item purchased and I will refund the appropriate amount of overpayment. If you are uncomfortable with that, you can send me an email with your zip code and stating which items you'll be purchasing and I'll calculate the correct combined shipping charges and send you a custom invoice.
