This match stick holder is metal of some type. It feels like a thick tin material. The ‘box’ portion measures 3 inches side to side, 2 inches front to back, 1.25 inches tall. Adding the hanger flap, makes it 2.5 inches tall in the back.
It is hinged. It has a pre drilled hole for attaching it to a wall. There are no attachment screws included.
As you can see in my photos, there is a box for matches inside. The box is empty. I removed the matchsticks that were inside because it is highly illegal to mail any type of fire making materials.
As for the age, I purchased it at an estate sale where the seller stated it was her grandfathers. She estimated it to be early to mid 1900s.
In my opinion, the condition is excellent. There are some paint chips missing, but that just adds to its character. There are no major dents, scratches, or damage other than the paint chips.

Here’s the reason for the high charges….. Twice yearly, and again in November for the holiday season (so three times per year) the postal service increases shipping charges. This is what they call their "Delivering For America" plan in which they hope to become more profitable.
On top of the three increases, the postal service has now divided the nation in to 8 postal zones. Each time a package crosses into another zone, the price increases. I am in Arizona, so most all of my shipments pass through multiple zones.
It's a 10 year plan that the postal service started in 2021, so we've got years to go with multiple price increases of shipping charges each year. I fear seeing what the costs will be at the end of the plan. …..
I do combine shipping on multiple items purchased as long as all items can fit safely into a single box or envelope. However, my web host is not set up to calculate multiple item shipping costs.
